There will be two one-day excursions during the Congress which will visit some of the most spectacular Roman military sites on Bulgarian Danube limes:

There will be one three-day pre-Congress excursion from Monday, 3rd, till Wednesday, 5th September 2012:
Ruse – Cherven (late Antiquity and medieval fortress, by the village of Cherven, Ruse district) – Nicopolis ad Istrum (Roman city and late Antiquity fortress, by the village of Nikyup, Veliko Tarnovo district) – Veliko Tarnovo (late Antiquity Zikideva and Bulgarian medieval capital) – Sostra (Roman military camp, by the village of Lomets, Lovech district) – Oescus (Roman colony and legionary camp, by the village of Gigen, Pleven district) – Pleven (late Antiquity Storgosia) – Ruse.There shall be also two post-Congress excursions:
Ruse – Abritus (Roman military camp and city, Roman Emperor Decius met his end here, now Razgrad) – Madara (Roman and early medieval sanctuaries, Roman imperial villa, late Antiquity fortress, by the village of Madara, Shumen district) – Shumen (late Antiquity and medieval fortress)– the Black Sea cape of Kaliakra (Antiquity fortress of Tirizis-Acrae, medieval castle, by the city of Kavarna) – Dionysopolis (old Greek colony and Roman city on the Black Sea coast, now Balchik) – Odessos (Black sea old Greek colony and Roman city, now Varna) – Ruse
